Community Dinner & Housing Authority Board Meeting

The Housing Authority of the City of Asheville will have their next board meeting at 6 PM on April 24 at the Arthur Edington Center, 133 Livingston St., Asheville. Join us at the meeting to support the preservation of Southside Community Farm. If you choose to give public comment, please help ensure that we are all prioritizing the voices of people of color, neighborhood residents, and public housing residents. Please respectfully focus on offering POSITIVE words of support for Southside Community Farm, and not on speaking negatively about our landlord, HACA.

We will be meeting at the farm (directly behind the Edington Center) for a community potluck meal before the meeting, 5-6 PM on April 24. Everyone is invited to come eat, meet, enjoy the farm, and learn more about our work.

Southside BIPOC Farmers Market

SCF hosts a farmers market in collaboration with other BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and people of color) vendors seasonally on the first Sunday of every month, May-October from 12-3 PM. Location is the Arthur Edington Center parking lot, 133 Livingston Street. Our farmers market is EBT accessible, offers Double SNAP for fruits and vegetables, and accepts Farm Fresh Produce Prescriptions. Some vendors are unable to accept credit/debit, so don’t forget to bring cash. Join us to purchase fresh, local foods and crafts, and to support Black and brown owned businesses!

The 2024 market season will begin on Sunday, May 5!
